Who?

Riccardo Buttini.

Born in Italy in 1993 and living in the UK.

I currently work as an IT administrator and I’m always busy studying something or working on my next project.

I am currently delving into full-stack development, and quite honestly I especially enjoy the challenge of back-end.

What else?

I just love my lil doggie.

Plus… I enjoy good banter, a game of poker with friends, a slow glass of scotch and the right manga read.

My qualifications

As a relatively late starter in the field, I have a very positive opinion on technical qualifications.

They allowed me to learn a great deal of new skills which I could then apply inside and outside of work.

2021

CompTIA A+

This was my very first IT cert, which I pursued while I still was working in an unrelated field.

It allowed me to present myself with credibility to employers and to ultimately land my first IT job.

2022

Microsoft Azure Fundamentals

I jumped at this one as the exam became available for free through the Microsoft Spring Skills Challenge.

It introduces to the fundamental concepts of Azure’s cloud services, which I then found easily transferable to other vendors too.

2022

CompTIA Network+

The objectives for this exam make up an incredibly solid learning experience.

It led me to realize that, even without going too deep into networking, a fundamental understanding of it can go a long way in any IT predicament.

2022

CompTIA Security+

Similarly to the Network+, I believe the concepts learnt for this exam make up great tools in anyone’s IT career, whichever direction it may go.

The idea is that security should be always be a primary concern, as much in technical roles as in managerial ones.

2023

Harvard's CS50x: Introduction to Computer Science

This course is absolutely phenomenal.

It provides engaging, relevant teaching, but also very challenging problem sets that force you to go out there and expand a great deal on the lesson you’ve just completed.
